The First Thing To Go Is Faith In Institutions
Lesson for us in at roots of revolution that overturned imperial Russian order
I’ve been thinking these past few days about the Russian famine of 1891-92. Why? Because it was a precursor to the October 1917 Revolution. The famine was a natural occurrence, but the Tsarist government’s response was so incompetent that it shook the faith of many people in the regime. Once you start to lose faith in the system, when it comes under severe pressure, you won’t be much inclined to defend it.
Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Alex Gutentag have turned up new evidence that the Covid virus was created in a Wuhan lab and escaped. Now the Wall Street Journal has confirmed their reporting. It is becoming more clear by the day that the American people were lied to repeatedly, and manipulated, by our government — and yes, that includes the Trump Administration (who do you think Anthony Fauci’s boss was?). They pressured tech to squelch questioning the Narrative, and tech was happy to do it. Our media went right along with it all. I don’t expect any government to get everything right in a situation like Covid — very few of us scored 100% in that crisis — but the contempt the state had for the truth, and for the people, even after the truth was known, was, and continues to be, really shocking.
With our media, the contempt for the people and the truth also plays out in reporting about matters turning on race, sexual orientation, and gender identity. We all know this, but nothing changes. You can’t trust what you read in the papers, see on TV, or hear on the radio. Even if it’s true, how can you be sure? Here in the High Holy Month of Pride, there is nothing but agitprop about all matters LGBT. But lo, the left-liberal magazine Slate ran a defiant piece by a gay male writer, who went to Pensacola Pride in Florida, with an f-you attitude towards Gov. Ron DeSantis. Look at what he saw there. Bear in mind, this is not a fundagelical scribe denouncing the perversion, but a gay man celebrating “queer desire” made manifest on the beach:
More:
Pride. So very much to be proud of. So much dignity.
Slate published this piece to please its queer and queer-ally readership, but it can’t keep the eyes of the rest of us off of it. The mainstream media doesn’t want us to see this degeneracy. Why would any parent want their child to be acculturated into being a part of this disgusting culture? If all these people were thoroughly heterosexual, it would still be disgusting, the kind of thing any responsible parent would want their children to steer away from, the kind of behavior that would rightly be seen as a sign of a sick society. Yet our children are constantly propagandized — particularly at school, by teachers who lie to parents — into embracing and celebrating the norms that lead to the Pensacola beach on Pride weekend. I certainly don’t believe that the Slate story is all there is to gay and lesbian culture, but I also don’t believe that the sanitized agitprop version we get in our media is true either.
I was pleased to see the all-Muslim city council in Hamtramck, Mich., stand up to the progressive sleazebags and say no, they are not going to fly Pride flags over city property. It’s against local moral standards, they say — and they’re right. More and more, we see Muslim parents standing up and doing the job of speaking out that Christians will not do. People who never read Michel Houellebecq’s controversial 2015 novel Submission think mistakenly that Muslims are the villains, because it’s about a democratic Islamist takeover of France. They’re not the heroes, but not villains either. The demoralized, secularized, gutless French are the villains. They are spiritually and morally exhausted, and surrender to Islamist government because they don’t know what else to do.
Me, I absolutely don’t want to live under Islamic government, but if I had to choose between living under the governance of the Hamtramck City Council or the Los Angeles city council (see below), that wouldn’t be a hard call. Twenty-two years after 9/11, I can hardly believe I typed that line, but here we are.
Why are we Christians so soft, and so uncaring about decadence? I don’t get it. I really did think that the Left going after kids to sexualize them was the bright red line that was going to make most people revolt against the sexual orientation/gender identity madness, but it hasn’t, not really. It may yet, but we’re going to have to sink even deeper into the filth before we hit bottom. We are still being lied to, constantly, by our government, by the medical establishment, and by the media about transitioning kids — and most people just chew their cuds and carry on. A federal judge in Arkansas just overturned the state’s ban on transing kids. Big Trans and its allies among elites are going to have their way — and most of us yawn and move on. It makes no sense. Do people ever think that their kids might end up on Pensacola beach, doing dildo ring toss with the dykes, or getting drunk and engaged in group masturbation?
How many institutional leaders in the US would be far more upset at college students going to, say, a Turning Point USA weekend event than to the beach at Pensacola Pride, showing their dicks to a ginger man for free shots? What the hell are we adults doing to our children?
Back to trust in institutions: the Army Secretary said recently that conservative complaints about wokeness in the US military is hurting readiness. See how this works? The military goes woke, the “wrong” people notice and complain, and now the country is instructed by the military leadership that the people who notice what they’re doing to the armed forces and dislike it are hurting our troops. Unpatriotic Conservatives 2023!
When did we cease to be a serious country? Officials in Los Angeles County asked one of the drag “nuns” to give the “blessing” before the raising of the sacred Pride banner over government offices. Click here to watch Sister Tootie Toot of the Musical Fruit offer a benediction:
Who can trust a government that does stuff like this? Who should trust them? Who can trust an ecosphere of authority — government, business and industry, academia, media, law, medicine, military, and the rest — that has embraced this kind of shameful idiocy, in its many forms, and is ramming it down our throats? On YouTube, Jordan Peterson’s interview with presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was banned by the site for violating its vaccine misinformation policy. I am very hesitant to take RFK’s anti-vax opinions seriously, but after all the b.s. we’ve had to put up with from the government and its partners in censorship over Covid, I think people should be allowed to hear this man — a presidential candidate! — and make their own minds up. Why are these controllers all so determined to silence people, to punish them for asking questions, to make them suffer for their blasphemies and impiety?
How crazy are the lying liars who govern us? This crazy:
You watch: when America faces a deep and serious crisis in the future, who is going to go to the mat to defend the system from attack? This is what the Tsar and his people discovered after the Russian Army was shellacked in World War I. Only a small number of Russians were Bolsheviks, but a large number of Russians had lost faith in the system. If I were betting, I’d say that our future is a techno-totalitarian left-wing government in which corporations and government rule us using AI and surveillance technology. But we might also get some kind of right-wing tyranny that many people might accept, or at least not resist, because they’re sick and tired of the decadent, incompetent, unaccountable leadership class that will have been running America into the ground for a long time now.
Which brings us to …
