Weekend In Kosice
The blessing of the testimony of martyrs and confessors, and the company of friends
Look at that happy man above. He’s Timo Krizka, my Slovak friend, a photographer, filmmaker, and one of the most inspirational Christians I know. It’s hard not to be happy when you’re around Timo. In fact, it’s hard not to be happy when you’re around the Slovak Christian fellowship that has so kindly taken me into their community these past few years. I’m talking about the Ladislav Hanus Fellowship. It’s a group of young Catholics deeply interested in the interaction between faith, art, and culture. Ladislav Hanus was a Slovak priest, writer, and intellectual who was imprisoned and tortured by the Communists because he refused to betray his Catholic faith.
Let me tell you what happened this weekend. It will lift your spirits, as it did mine.
