People think this is just silly froth, but when you invite Satan into your life, even if he's only a "symbol", he will come. Oh, yes, he will come to you . . . don't ever issue that type of invitation! If you do, he becomes entitled to power over you.
I am cautious about using government power to coerce expression. Having said that we do it with public indecency laws, pornography in public places. Debating slippery slope as we immerse ourselves in hell on earth is a waste of time. None of these laws are sacrosanct. Otherwise there would be no exceptions. Authority of Government comes from governed. Conservatives should use all intellectual, legislative power to effect change on this front. And when courts decide in favor truth, justice (roe wade was overturned), we will have done all we can do and within constitutional order.
Isn't there any moment of cognitive dissonance when they say "empathy, compassion, and love" with one breath, and "liking" the Homophobe Guillotine with the next breath?
It's like Flannery O'Connor says: "When tenderness is detached from the source of tenderness, its logical outcome is terror. It ends in forced-labor camps and in the fumes of the gas chamber." These folks see "the bigots" as all that stands in the way of the reign of universal kindness and good vibes, so guillotining the bigots is really the compassionate thing to do.
This reminds me of a former friend. She had pink hair, she was morbidly obese she is into colorful unicorn posters, and she identified herself as bisexual. She's not a bad person - she's just profoundly troubled. Target and co. are reinforcing the self-image of people like my friend, actively replacing the role of parents and caregivers, much like those sinister pharma companies profiting off of desperate folks. I am a free-marketeer all the way, but we need to stand firm against capitalism taking the place of the family, the community and traditional values.
Although Satan is powerful, Satanists have little power. They are freaks just like those who came up with the Esperanto language, Trekkies, Hale-Bopp believers (all dead now), Deadheads and Parrotheads. These bizarre groups exist because of all the superfluous wealth in society. These nuts would be the first to die if Earth reverted back to a hunter-gatherer society or even the agricultural society that reigned for so long.

Modern America's last god standing is Mammon, and there's always gonna be a corporation or company happily selling the latest trendy 1001 ways to derange your child and maybe even make them mutilate and sterilize themselves.

To know God's name means that one can "call upon the name of the Lord." (Acts 2:21; 3:16; 4:7) On the other hand, to invoke the names of idols, or of Satan, is to invite all kinds of spiritual forces into one's life. It never occurred to them that there are other spirits out there beside the Holy Spirit. It makes me shudder.
