But, Bernie, they don't "really believe" in Satan. Now.

Expand full comment

But Satan believes in them, and that's enough once they've opened the door to him.

Expand full comment

Satan is the ultimate "self-determined" man. Look where that got him. And darn, he still faces constraints: there are bounds he cannot pass, and bonds he cannot break.

Expand full comment

The ultimate sovereign individual, and a fallen Angel.not sure how that happened or exactly when. Satan existed before Adam and Eve. He is a key figure in the book of Job, the oldest book in the Holy Scriptura.

Expand full comment

God's plan was a plan of wisdom to be garnered through agency, and redemption through Christ's Atonement when the inevitable use of agency went awry. But this plan meant some souls would be lost and never reach heaven, for some would choose darkness instead of light. Satan's plan was that we would not be given agency at all, and in that way no redemption would be necessary. No freedom (we would be his slaves), and no Christ. For these affronts to the goodness of God, Satan--one of the "sons of the morning"--was thrust down to hell. He can never progress; he can never gain a body (unless by demonic possession); he can never win. But he will make as many human beings as he can "miserable like unto himself" in the meantime before the End.

Expand full comment

I agree with your comment. Yahweh chose His people before the foundation of the universe. We have nothing to do with it. He chose His people for His Kingdom. Satan is bound now so that the Gospel will go to every nation, tongue, and tribe. King Jesus is returning soon to judge every human being who ever lived. Some for His new earth. Most for reprobation into the Lake of Fire. No mere human being knows which is which. In the meantime, Satan is trying to deceive everyone. Satan is the Father of Lies, after all.

The entirety of CRT , Critical Race Theory, and Critical Gender Theory are totally fraudulent. They are meant to divide and conquer normal folks. To separate their daily lives from actual truth. They are both pure evil theories.

I cannot and do not believe in predestination. God desires the salvation of all, and Christ opened the way for everyone who will turn around and take that path.

Expand full comment

I don't believe in predestination either, but if you exist outside of time, as God does, you can see the end even though we can't. God lives in an endless present, which is why Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, even though He suffered and died over 2,000 years ago.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven, as quoted by Milton. I have known many people who genuinely despise God and the demands he makes, and fully identify with Satan's rebelliousness, even if not always consciously.

Expand full comment

Exactly

Expand full comment

Satan doesn't care if you believe in him, or how you believe in him. Anyone who thinks they can use him as a symbol and that "he means to you what you need him to mean" is just falling for another of his lies, and setting himself on the path to destruction. Because that is what Satan himself means for you.

Rebellion against God can make one stupid and insane enough to serve Satan. Rom 1:28

Hell has no fury like a woman scorned. The question is simple, who is a woman? And why were they scorned. This is no longer an easy question with trannies being shoved down to normal folks to accept. I will never accept any of these new satanic ideas. God created Adam from the dust of the earth. And then God said it is not good for a man to be alone. So he created Eve from Adam’s rib. Not from his head, so that she could rule over him. Not from his feet, so that he could trample over her or oppress her. But from his side, as his equal to perfect the mission of human beings. To be fruitful and multiply greatly and then subjugate the earth. And then worship God Almighty and enjoy Him forever.

As our culture dissolves and goes further into satanic principles, everything is becoming more and more conformed into satanic ideals that will destroy our society.

So, what to do? Object and refuse to go along. No need to make a stink, just refuse to comply. Go to your church or synagogue every week and every single time the doors are open. Make small communities of fellow believers and just shut off popular culture. The answer and the solution, is your faith community. Get to know your fello parishioners and congregates. Live in their lives and they in your lives.

In my experience, Satanists run the gamut from "I'm a teenage atheist but EXTRA EDGY take that mom haha" to "I do abortions and child trafficking for fun".

Not sure where this one falls on the spectrum, but either way getting comfy with demons is never a good idea. Even worse to start pushing it on kids

The people worshipping Satan don't believe in the Christian view of Satan. that's why they're worshipping him.

Unfortunately for them, Satan doesn't care what they think he is. He is what he is. It's the corollary of "your belief in God doesn't affect his existence."

Expand full comment

That’s easy. They become like him. Satan originally served in the presence of the Lord and then sought to elevate himself.

Expand full comment

Satan was an Angel who led a rebellion against Yahweh. His most frequent showing is in the Book of Job, the first book of the Holy Scriptura ever written, in the times of the patriarch Abraham. He is also called the Dragon in the book of the Apocalypse of the Revelation.

Satan is not in hell right now. But he is bound so that the Gospel of Jesus Christ can be spread across the earth in every nation, tongue, and race. Satan will be felled by King Jesus on the Day of the Lord. This is described in the book of the Apocalypse of the Revelation. He will be tossed into the Lake of Fire for eternity.

Satan is absolutely real.

And yes, the book of Job, was written by an unnamed source in the time of Abraham, about 4,000 years ago.

Not so sure about that. As I've said, I bought a Ouija board as a goof when I was 13 and it was one of the stupidest things I've ever done. And that's a tough competitive field.

Satan tells you what you want to hear, including, "I exist, I don't exist, sure, man, cool. Just crap on God and all His works, you can say what you want about me." Satan is less concerned about attention upon him (though that is absolutely fine), and more about separating you from God. THAT is the bottom line. And whatever he has to do to get that, he is fine with it.

I agree with you mostly, though English "pride" takes in some territory that isn't really sinful to feel or express ("I'm proud of my graduating kid becoming valedictorian") When I want to be sure to specify the sinful aspects I usually use "hubris".

No, not all all. Satan is far bigger and far more powerful and far more dangerous to human beings then mere woke people. He moves to and fro seeking souls to devour. Starting with the men and husbands first. Take down the strongman and the women and children are much easier to destroy.

The role of Egypt in scripture is representative of the world around us. The wilderness is the separation from Egypt. Canaan “the Promised Land” is not a type of Paradise. It is the representation of the life of faith. God instructed them to fight their surrounding enemies in Canaan. There is no war in Paradise.

The trip from Egypt to the Promised Land was intended to take about 2 months. But their complaining, faithlessness, idolatry and judgement of Moses and God resulted in 40 YEARS!

Their failures in the wilderness AND the Promised Land were a result of their inability to hear and understand. This record was given and preserved for our instruction.

When the question arises:

“Where exactly are we to go to leave the rot behind?”, the answer should be “trust in what God has declared. Moses spoke of messiah. He appeared looooong after Egypt. The people were to labor to that day.

“Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken...

Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. “

Messiah appeared to them.

The rot is INSIDE us. Only the Holy Spirit can displace it until our flesh succumbs to its sentence and dies. Paradise lay beyond.

Apparently. If I get this right, she is a woman attracted to men, i.e a straight woman, but since she's identifying as a man, that makes her gay, i.e. a gay trans man. I think......

Expand full comment

RIght. Just like a "male to female" trans who is attracted to women (ie, pre-transition straight male) describes themselves as a lesbian transwoman. Note that this is irrespective of the anatomical editing that has taken place (if any) -- the key "trick" is that "sex" is being replaced by "gender" when determining what was previously known as "sexual attraction" (that is, attraction based on one's sex). So if one identifies as a woman and is attracted to women, one is a lesbian, and if one identified as a man and is attracted to men, one is a gay man -- regardless of what genitals one may or may not have. This is the usage now for the trans world.

Andrew Sullivan had a post yesterday complaining about people like the one discussed in the article showing up on Grindr and saying that they are gay men even though they have female genitalia, and claiming the right to be present in that space and to lecture gay men about being bigots for not wanting to date them because of their genital status or underlying biological sex. The same is happening on the lesbian side with a bit more of a spotlight in the media -- the "cotton ceiling" concept has been noted, which is an idea invented by male to female trans that refers to the "bigoted" resistance of lesbians to date them on the basis of their genitalia and/or biological sex.

It was inevitable that this would happen, even though just five years ago we were being lectured that this was speculative catastrophizing -- as we always are.
